Falls short on cross-platform/device/program support
So you want distraction-free writing. This does that, and I used nothing else for it for years…as long as it was just on my Windows 7 desktop. However, when I started opening .omm files (simple text files) across different devices and OSs, (iOS, OSX, Windows 10,) I notitced that, despite the fact that the files are obstinently UTF-8, quotation marks and apostraphies {sp?!} get mangled depending on what you’re opening with. Just beacuse I want to WRITE without destractions doesn’t mean I don’t want to do something else later in another program/device.
The reason I only knocked off two stars for that is because, if you’re entirely in the Apple ecosystem, it’s not a problem, and even if you’re not, if your .omm files are just journals and you don’t care about the encoding stuff, you’ll still like this.
