In fact it do what it promises. The environment that it creates really helps and inspire anyone. I just didnt give five stars because I think it has few options to treat the text. Is impossible to use two differents types of fonts in the same text. The same for differents sizes. So as a text editor it is simply a sophisticated notepad. But the layout is perfect and impressive. ------ De fato isso cumpre a promessa. O ambiente que ele cria realmente ajuda e inspira. Eu só não dei 5 estrelas por o programa possui poucas opções para tratar o texto. No fundo é quase um bloco de notas sofisticado. Mas se você escreve com frequencia, vale a pena.

I confess I was almost embarrassed to use it and called it "the word processor for metrossexuals". Now I am addicted. I am a professional writer and its not the tool to fully develop work, but its great for focusing and jotting on the page first drafts, ideas and sudden inspirations. I love it.

Simple. Plain. Text. What else do you need to write? The themes feature even helps my inspiration.

First i couldn´t belive that this app would work. Today i had to write something for the university and i couldn´t focus on my task. Then i bought this app, pluged in my headphones and the text comes out of my fingers like it´s nothing. Sounds magic, but this tool works in a simple and minimalistic way. Nice work!

I really love this App. It is very nice to do brainstorming and work on personal and inspirational stuff. It helps you to get things out of your mind. I like everything but I have one sugestion. It would be nice to have some more backgrounds to chose. An ocean or beach landscape would be nice. The snow landscape is my favorite now. The music is amazing.

But please add bigger fonts ;-) And an Idea: It would be great if it would be POSSIBLE to opnen a second/third text on the same page. All of them with infinity scrolling. And fullscreen support in mountain lion.

I work with Ommwriter quite a long time now and in general, I am quite happy with this way of working. Having applied all updates for my apps in one go without reading through all the information, I am not happy with the new sounds, not only as I got very much used to the old tracks, ambient and keystroke sounds, but also as I find the new ones kind of distracting. I wished I hadnt done the update… Give me the old sounds back, please!

I really enjoy typing with this application. I especially like the soundoptions. BUT: no real fullscreen and the window somehow is los if you go back to the desktop it should sit on. Only fast option to bring it back is to start omm writer again via spotlight. This sucks! Please just add a Fullscreen button. Can’t be that hard!

Im finding myself enjoying the process of writing again. So simple, really helps me to focus on what I am writing.

There are tones of word processors out there, and this one stands out among them. Its a word processor with musics, sounds and visuals. That would make you wonder why you get this app when you could simply put your itunes on. Well..... The most exact way to put what Ive experienced with this app is - Nature, I felt like I was on a snow field, mountain and nowhere. Its beautifully simple. Its like medicating. Once I run it, I only care about the letters on the screen. And this really helps since the writing process usually causes me a headache. If you want to try something different, try this one.

I love the interface, its just gorgeous! I wish someone would write an IDE like this, I would love to write code in an environment like this.

Is it possible to have an emotional connection to a text editor? I think it is. I find myself launching OmmWriter over and over again just to enjoy its shear elegance. Its not the most feature rich text editor out there, but thats exactly what makes it so great. If you have a blog, its a great starting point for posts, keeping you calm and focused on your ideas. I simply love this app.

OmmWriter is a wonderful piece of software. Its actually the most innovative thing that has happened to word processing in a long time. The success lies in its ability to remove all the distractions of computers and the outside world. Gone are the formatting bars, the rulers, and the green and red lines under words that make you lose your train of thought. Instead you get meditating sounds coupled with beautifully simple backgrounds. All of a sudden writing is easy again. If you dont want to buy it right now go to their website and try the free one. I used it all day and decided to get the full version because I was so impressed. Im sure you will be too. Thank you very much to the developers. Happy writing!

This is an amazing word processor, taken down to core. It runs full screen, providing simple but soothing backdrop, and awesome ambient music that puts you in the right writing mood. (can be turned off, but why would you?). The interface is super minimalistic and goes away as you start typing. I had a free beta version from while ago and love it enough that I re-purchased it here to give back to the developer a bit.

This really is superb application, my only request would be the addition of a font button for custom font selection, or allowing the user to select which fonts are the designated sans, serif, and mono font.

I really never would have guessed that this could have made me so productive as a writer. It gets you into zone. I thought it sounded totally flakey, so I went to their website and tried the free demo (v1). My first hour of writing flew by. I was sold. I bought this version for the extra sounds, schemes, etc. I love it. Ive written SO MUCH in the little while Ive had it.

I seldom ever take the time to review products or services online, but couldnt help but say some quick words about this program. Ommwriter is an absolute delight to use and has the potential to change your entire writing/ life routine. If youre like me, one of the countless writers in the world bogged down by their day jobs and constantly searching for ways in which you can push everything aside and just concentrate on getting words on a page, this is for you. No fancy gimmicks, or formatting bars, or even buttons (unless you want them), just you and the endless screen, just the way it should be. Congratulations guys, youve hit the nail on the head with this one.

I was very skeptical at first, but when I started to write it was hard to stop. The distractions are forced to stop, notifications are turned off, and the music, colours, and keystroke sounds are really soothing. Get it, its worth the 5 bucks. 10 times over.

I really enjoy this program. I am a student and find its great to take notes with. It clears my desktop of any distractions and allows me to focus on my work. Some ideas that I would love to see implimented in the future: - The ability to customize the backgrounds. - I really need integration with the built in Mac OS spell checker. This shouldnt take away from the programs simplicity. "Great app! WOULD DEAL WITH AGAIN! AAAAA++++++"
